Prep School for City Living Live Online Group Class- Class Pass

Description: In this online class we will discuss the day to day schedule of raising a well behaved puppy, how to teach your puppy the foundation behaviors, Problem Prevention and much more. Training your adolescent pup manners in the real world can help prepare your dog for beyond just obedience indoor. With this class you will take your basic puppy training to helping your dog prepare with real world distractions. In this class we can help prep dogs that you want to advance to become therapy dogs, control for dogs getting ready to compete in dog sports, or prep for service animal public access curriculum.

This online class is the human learning platform that works well with the weekly homework and video feedback.

During class we will ask that you text your questions so that we can address them all together at once.

Canine Good Citizen Prep Live Online INTERACTIVE Group Class – Class Pass

Description: Canine Learning Academy offers Online Canine Good Citizen prep class for advanced obedience students. This class is an interative class to particpate with your dog. CGC is based on the American Kennel Club’s 10-item certification test. CGC certification is open to all dogs – AKC registered or not. There is no minimum or maximum age limit.

Canine Learning Academy Online CGC Prep Class not only covers the test items, but also demonstrates how to safely incorporate field trips to places in order to apply what we’ve been working on in class.

The CGC test includes the following items:
1. Accepting a friendly stranger (greeting the handler without acknowleding the dog)
2. Sitting politely to be petted (friendly behavior while staying in place to be petted)
3. Appearance and grooming (evaluator touches the dog’s head, paws, ears and lightly uses brush or comb)
4. Out for a walk (dog stays with handler without pulling on leash as they walk turning left, right, an about turn and stop)
5. Walking through a crowd (walking on-leash among people without pulling, lunging, jumping or shyness)
6. Sit and Down on command and Staying in place
7. Coming when called (recall from 20 feet)
8. Reaction to another dog (exercise shows that dog should show only casual interest without approaching other dog or handler)
9. Reaction to distraction (both noise and movement)
10. Supervised separation (handler leaves dog with evaluator for 3 minutes without dog becoming agitated)

In Canine Learning Academy’s Online CGC Prep class each item is covered and new tools are introduced for successfully accomplishing each behavior.

Prerequisite for the class is Intermediate Level class completion or equivalent. Instructor approval is required.

Class is taught LIVE with a Canine Learning Academy Certified Dog Trainer, using the platform ZOOM to host the live class. Speak live with the teacher, High Quality video demonstrating each task, and submit video for feedback.

Trick Live Online INTERACTIVE Class, Earn your AKC Trick Title – Class Pass

Description: Earn your Trick Title! Trick training is great fun for both dogs and their owners! It’s still training – just as obedience training is – and builds on the training relationship you have with your dog. Dogs should have good basic obedience skills prior to enrolling in this class. Class is an interactive class for you and your dog to participate together.

In this class, we talk about how to teach a lot of different tricks and you can pick and choose which to teach and practice during the class (and after!).

This online class is an interactive class for both you and your dog to do together. You will get the how for each trick, and given time to practice the behaviors in the privacy of your own home with your pup. During your practice session we can give you immediate feedback and suggestions to help while you and your dog are learning. Class meets live online weekly, but classes are recorded and can be watched later.

You and your dog can entertain your family and amaze your friends! Over 30 different tricks will be taught in this 6 week class.

While dog owners are staying at home practicing social distancing, the AKC Family Dog Program is pleased to announce that dog owners may teach their dogs tricks at home and submit a video for review and approval. This applies to all levels of AKC Trick Dog training. When the dog has learned the tricks for the title, the dog owner sends a video (via a link, etc) of the dog performing the tricks to us.

Rowdy Rover Live Online Group Class- Class Pass

Description: Is your dog overly excited when encountering dogs or been labelled “over-reactive” toward dogs or too-excitable with people? Our Rowdy Rover group class will show you controlled environment where you and your dog can practice and learn with others with similar challenges. This group class will help you understand why your dog reacts this way toward other dogs and how to change its over reactive response to a more appropriate response. Permitting dogs to make choices empowers them, making them more confident.

You will also learn the B.A.T method and management skills to get out of difficult situations as well as how to change your dog’s behavior using positive training techniques. As part of the learning process, we will play fun training games to help ease both your and your dog’s stress levels, many of which are played for just 3 minutes at a time.
